This class is recommended for expectant parents who have decided to breastfeed or who are considering breastfeeding as their feeding choice. A board-certified lactation consultant will answer your questions and provide you with useful information about breastfeeding. Topics include the benefits of breast milk, establishing a milk supply, positioning the baby, proper latch-on, preventing problems and returning to work. Expectant fathers are welcome.

One 3-hour session is offered every month during the evening.

Class fee is $35 per couple. To register, 412-578-7030 and pay by credit card or send in a printed form with check.

Reduced Fee Package: Register for the following three classe and save $15.00, Lamaze, Baby Care Basics and Breastfeeding for $160 per couple.

Refund Policy: Refunds are granted in case of premature delivery or medical complications. West Penn Hospital must receive a letter from your physician explaining the reason for the refund. Refunds are pro-rated to reimburse only those classes not attended. A refund for nonmedical reasons must be requested at least 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the class.
