Highmark Health today announced the creation of a $5 million “Heroes Appreciation Program” to help offset additional personal or family expenses incurred by Allegheny Health Network (AHN) frontline hospital employees as a result of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and in recognition of their extraordinary work and dedication to patients and the community.
Officials with Mon Health System today announced that the Morgantown-based healthcare organization is joining the clinically integrated network (CIN) and the group purchasing organization run by Allegheny Health Network (AHN). Mon Health System will also collaborate with AHN’s Cardiovascular Institute to establish a heart failure program at Mon Health Medical Center.
Allegheny Health Network (AHN)’s mobile COVID-19 testing unit will be deployed to Pittsburgh’s Duquesne community this Friday, May 29 from 9 AM to 4 PM. The testing site will set up outside Duquesne Elementary School at 300 Kennedy Avenue in Duquesne, PA 15110. The AHN initiative, launched earlier this month, aims to reach underserved western Pennsylvania areas, providing enhanced access to care for a wider and more diverse range of patients. To date, the mobile unit has served patients throughout Pittsburgh’s Homewood and Hill District communities.
In an effort to recognize the heroic work of caregivers at AHN Canonsburg hospital, local Washington County first responders will host an honorary parade today, May 26 at 11 a.m. Representatives from areas including North Strabane Twp., Peters Twp., Canonsburg Borough, Cecil Twp. and Houston Borough will come together to circle the hospital with ambulatory vehicles, fire trucks and police cars.
